Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) predicted that an executive order by President Barack Obama granting legal status to illegal immigrants already in the country would require legal action on Friday’s “Laura Ingraham Show.”
Vitter argued that any executive amnesty would be “absolutely unconstitutional,” “so we’d sure as heck go to court to block it.” Adding, “we’d have to go to court.”
Vitter also said that Republicans in the Senate have unified against any executive amnesty, stating “this latest crisis, particularly focusing on this flood of unaccompanied alien children, is really building a consensus in the country, first of all and certainly among Republicans in the Senate as well.”
He also predicted that Senators such as Lindsay Graham (R-SC) and Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) will fight any executive amnesty by the president.
