Wednesday at the White House daily briefing, CBS’s Major Garrett appeared annoyed with principal deputy press secretary Eric Schultz flippant attitude.
“I’d like you to treat it seriously,” when he started a line of questions about former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s criticisms of President Barack Obama’s policy in Syria allowing ISIS to grow in strength.
Garrett asked, “How comfortable is the president with the idea that Republicans now running in the midterm elections can just as easily quote Hillary Clinton criticizing Obama foreign policy as criticizing it themselves?”
After Schultz answered the Obama and Clinton worked well together, Garrett pushed back by saying, “Republicans don’t even have to say, ‘Don’t listen to me, just listen to the former secretary of state.’ Isn’t that awkward for the president?”
Schultz answered, “I’m not going to handicap potential republican campaign ads from the podium today.”
