Former Washington, D.C. Mayor and current City Councilmember Marion Barry (D-Ward 8) told a reporter asking him about his unpaid parking tickets “you don’t know a damn thing about Washington D.C.”
The video from DC’s Fox 5 shows Barry reacting defensively to questions posed by Chief Investigative Reporter Emily Miller about his unpaid parking tickets in a July 24 interview.
In the July 24 interview with Miller, Barry claimed “whatever I owe, I paid,” but also said he doesn’t know how much he owed. He also responded “so what?” when he was informed that he had failed to pay parking tickets for 2-3 years.
Earlier this week, The Washington Times reported Barry’s car was impounded after he was involved in a car accident where he was driving on the wrong side of the road. His car was later released after he paid almost $1,700 in unpaid tickets according to the Times.
