Wednesday on WFLA, Tallahassee’s talk radio, Senator Marco Rubio said one of the ignored driving factors of the surge of illegal immigration is the huge amount of “remittance,” a transfer of money by a foreign workers to an individual in their home country, being sent to Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador.
The Florida Republican explained remittance makes up 13 percent of those three countries’ combined Gross domestic product (GDP) meaning there is little to no incentive for their leaders to try and stop the flow of illegal immigration into the Untied States.
