Thursday at his weekly briefing, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) became frustrated at reporters’ suggestion that Republicans will be blamed if they don’t quickly approve the $3.7 billion in emergency funds President Barack Obama has requested to address the humanitarian crisis of thousands of unaccompanied minors flooding across the U.S.-Mexico border.

The speaker banged his podium as he said, “This is a problem of his own making. He has been president for five and a half years, when is he going to take responsibility for something?”

GOP leaders have indicated they are reluctant to give the Obama administration a blank check on the request saying they will need more detailed plans before approving the emergency spending.
