In an appearance on “Fox & Friends” on Wednesday, Gov. Rick Perry (R-TX) criticized President Barack Obama for his lack of willingness and ability to secure the U.S.-Mexico border.
Perry proposed a number a measures to stymie the flow of illegals into Texas, including diplomacy and staffing up the border patrol in Texas and he also touted his state’s national guard’s efforts on the border. However, he issued a challenge to President Barack Obama, who will be making a stop in Texas next week for a fundraiser.
“[I]f the president of the United States is really serious about securing that border, we can show him how to do that,” Perry said. “But I haven’t even had a phone call from this president. He’s coming next week. He’s coming for a fundraiser. If he doesn’t go to the border, I think it’s a real reflection of his lack of concern of what’s really going on there.”
