On Sunday, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair defended himself against critics pointing to his decision to help then-President George W. Bush remove Saddam Hussein in 2003 as the reason ISIS has taken over a large section of Iraq. Blair emphasized the need to look at recent Middle East history in a larger scale saying the Arab spring that has seen revolution and violence spread across the region would not have been helped by the presence of the brutal dictator Saddam Hussein.
Blair explained there has been three examples of regime change recently, Iraq where the international community sent in forces to remove the dictator, Libya where they sent in only air power and Syria where they did nothing but threaten to remove the dictator. Blair argued that Libya and Syria are in much worst chaos than Iraq saying ISIS came from Syria which still has the dictator in place.
