Radio host Mark Levin argued that Dave Brat’s primary victory was a sign that the Republican Party should “stop chasing ethic groups,” and “stop chasing genitalia.” He stated that Brat’s victory showed there is “a percolating anger and frustration among many of the American people” at a Republican Party that is “afraid of Obama.” Levin also argued that “the people are yearning for a leader.
They don’t like the status quo whether it’s Democrats or Republicans. They don’t like Mitch McConnell getting up and saying ‘we’ll crush you’ or Boehner making his jokes and so forth and this isn’t a joke to the American people.” He concluded that Republicans need to “talk to the American people, talk about liberty, opportunity, explain to them that Obama is wrong and that we need to unleash the American people and the economy.”
