On Laura Ingraham’s radio show on Thursday, Duke University Public Policy Professor and reparations advocate Dr. William “Sandy” Darity explained his proposal for reparations, one which that would make first lady Michelle Obama eligible, as well as Oprah Winfrey and LeBron James.
According to Darity’s plan, anyone who could prove one of their ancestors were slaves and that they self-identified as African-American would be eligible. He conceded that the likelihood of President Barack Obama and the current Congress passing a reparations bill is extremely low, but his according to Darity, if such plan would take effect, it would once and for all end any claims on racial grievances by African-Americans for slavery and the other post-slavery laws that infringed on the rights of African-Americans.
