Dr. Ben Carson, the author of “One Nation: What We Can All Do to Save America’s Future,” told Jake Tapper on CNN’s “The Lead” on Thursday that National Prayer Breakfast organizers demanded an apology from Carson after his now famous keynote speech at the 2013 National Prayer Breakfast.
Carson said that after the speech, Obama “thanked me for coming and speaking.”
Carson then stated about 15 minutes after the speech, the organizers of the event told him “that the White House was very upset and that I needed to call the president and apologize.” Carson said that he responded by saying he “get the impression that [Obama] was very upset,” and so an apology was unnecessary.
