Following Tuesday night’s primary wins for senatorial hopefuls Rep. Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) and Natalie Tennant, Charleston, WV ABC affiliate WCHS interviewed the two candidates.
Both candidates won their respective contests by large margins and both candidates look to distance themselves from President Barack Obama, who has not been friendly toward the coal industry, which is the lifeblood of West Virginia’s economy.
Capito and Tennant are competing to replace outgoing-Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) and if elected would be the state’s first female senator.
