Howard Dean Defines a 'Win' as Getting People Who Don't Like Obama to Like ObamaCare

On Wednesday’s “All In” on MSNBC, former Gov. Howard Dean (D-VT), the former Democratic National Committee chairman, explained to host Chris Hayes that victory involves winning people on President Barack Obama’s health care policy, not his personality.

“[Y]ou know, by the time they get done with this in the next few months, roughly one out of 20 Americans are going to be insured through this bill,” Dean said. “And that means it’s pretty likely that somebody is going to know — Americans are going to know somebody who got their insurance through ObamaCare.”

“Now, this is — when you know somebody with the insurance, most of the time they’re going to say, ‘Yeah, it works, OK,’” he continued. “Sometimes they’ll say, ‘Oh, I had a terrible time.’ Most of the time they’re going to say, ‘I have insurance. I never would have had this opportunity if it hadn’t been for Obamacare. I have to say, I may not like Obama, but I like Obamacare.’ Once you get to that position, we win.”
