St Dept Contradicts Rice, U.N. Ambassador On Nat'l Security Policy

State Department Spokeswoman Jen Psaki explained the disconnect between the strong statements against the U.N. made by Susan Rice and Ambassador Power over the weekend by explaining that the last 36 hours have seen “significant changes.” Ambassador Powers made a speech last week asserting that it would be naive to go to the U.N. Security Council for a resolution on Syria. The Obama Administration has announced this week that they are attempting to do just that. Psaki said that because the situation has changed, leaders about being “flexible” about the options before them concerning Syria.
