State Dept: U.S. Will Review Turkey Investigation Into Excessive Force On Protesters

After reports of violence and excessive force by Turkish law enforcement in response to protests this week, the U.S. government has called for investigations by Turkish officials. When questioned if the U.S. government trusts Turkey to conduct a fair investigation, State Department Spokeswoman Jen Psaki said, “We encourage them to conduct a full and transparent investigation. And if it needs to be evaluated, I’m sure we will certainly do that.”
