A California judge has blocked the release of certain new undercover videos from a pro-life group exposing Planned Parenthood’s alleged involvement with the sale of aborted baby parts in the state.
A court order issued Tuesday in Los Angeles prohibits the Center for Medical Progress from releasing any further video involving three officials from StemExpress, a tissue procurement company, who were taped during a May restaurant meeting, according to the Associated Press.
LifeNews indicates that this does not appear to prevent the release of videos exposing Planned Parenthood itself.
CMP responded, “StemExpress, a for-profit company partnered with over 30 abortion clinics, including Planned Parenthood, to harvest and sell aborted baby parts and provide a ‘financial benefit’ to Planned Parenthood clinics, is attempting to use meritless litigation to cover-up this illegal baby parts trade, suppress free speech, and silence the citizen press reporting on issues of burning concern to the American public.”
Multiple videos have been released sparking renewed public outrage over the practice of selling tissue from abortions, and over late-term abortion itself. Early videos showed executives discussing selling baby parts over a meal with undercover investigators. In the latest video release, aPlanned Parenthood doctor discusses how to avoid getting caught for “selling fetal parts across states.”
Tuesday’s temporary restraining order will stand until an August 19, hearing the AP reported.
In other California News, State Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez (R-Lake Elsinore) penned a letter demanding a state audit of Planned Parenthood.
