Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector arrested two gang members after they illegally crossed the border from Mexico. Agents found one of the members embedded with a group of 12 illegal immigrants. He had his seven-year-old daughter traveling with him.

McAllen Station agents apprehended a group of 12 migrants on Monday who crossed the border from Mexico near the town of Mission, Texas. They consisted  mostly of Central American migrants, according to Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol officials.

The agents transported the families to the station for processing. All migrants undergo a biometric background and records investigation to determine criminal and immigration history along with any gang affiliations. The agents identified one as an 18th Street Gang member who was traveling with his 7-year-old daughter.

Earlier that day, McAllen Station agents came upon a Honduran national who illegally crossed the border near Los Ebanos, Texas. The agents transported the migrant to the station for processing.

A records check revealed membership in the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang. The gang member also has an “extensive criminal history,” officials stated.

The agents transported all of the illegal immigrants to the McAllen Station for processing according to Rio Grande Valley Sector protocols.

Breitbart News reported extensively on the arrests of MS-13 and 18th Street members who illegally cross the U.S.-Mexico Border.

During an interview earlier this year with Breitbart Border/Cartel Chronicles Editor-in-Chief Brandon Darby, Rio Grande Valley Sector Chief Patrol Agent Manuel Padilla said that the apprehension of MS-13 gang members increased nearly 250 percent during the first 10 months of FY2018.

“The good news for the Valley is that they do not remain here,” Chief Padilla explained. “The bad news for the United States is that they go to Houston and Maryland, and other parts of the country to commit their atrocious criminal acts.”
