Cartel gunmen in Michoacan left the bodies of five men in the bed of an abandoned pickup along one of the main boulevards in Uruapan. They were tortured before being shot execution-style.
The gory discovery was officially made by Michoacan authorities after neighbors reported a vehicle with bodies along Industrial Boulevard in Uruapan. Investigators found the bodies of five currently unidentified men. Information provided to Breitbart Texas by law enforcement sources revealed they were tortured, bound, and shot in their heads.
The murder comes one week after top cartel leaders from Michoacan held a peace summit in Tarecuato, not far from the border with Jalisco. During the meeting, various cartel leaders and officials tried to establish a truce to fabricate the appearance of peace in the region.
The summit was arranged by the leader of “Los Viagras,” Nicolas “El Gordo” Sierra Santana, after his organization saw a series of high-profile arrests which weakened his hold on the state. Despite receiving protection from state authorities, Mexican military forces are behind the arrests of Los Viagras’ leaders. The most damaging blow came from the arrest of Cesar “El Boto” Sepulveda Arellano. The arrest occurred only 48 hours after Sepulveda placed a $100,000 bounty on this Breitbart Texas writer.
The peace summit appears to have failed. Intelligence sources revealed to Breitbart Texas that several individuals in attendance were not in agreement and more violence is expected.
