HOUSTON, Texas — Five men who police say are well-documented gang members teamed up to allegedly burglarize a pharmacy located on the city’s southwest side. Houston Police Department officers say they caught the group leaving the area of the burglary and they were carrying tools commonly used for such jobs.
Houston police officers arrested Charles Randle, Christopher Walker, Louis Jones, Willie Dison, and Louis Williams for “engaging in organized criminal activity,” according to a report from KPRC NBC2. The officers arrested the men after finding them leaving the area where a pharmacy had been burglarized. The men were allegedly carrying a heavy-duty grinder, prybars, a crowbar, and bolt cutters, police officials told the reporter.
Police said the five men have more than 118 previous charges on their rap sheets — just in Harris County (Houston).
Randle was reportedly out on a bond from Webb County (Laredo, Texas) after he was arrested for a robbery in February. He and five other gang members are accused of stealing more than $88,000 from an ATM technician, KPRC stated. While out on that bond, Randle was arrested in Houston in April for a felony theft scheme. Officials said he was allowed to post a $50,000 bond in that case. His previous criminal history reportedly includes charges for criminal mischief, burglary of a building, assault of a family member, criminal trespassing, evading arrest with a motor vehicle, possession of crack cocaine, evading arrest on foot, assaulting a public servant, assault family member (impeding breath), burglary of a motor vehicle, failure to ID, felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance, according to police officials.
Dixon is also no stranger to Houston police officers. Before being arrested in connection with the alleged burglary of the pharmacy, he was out of jail on three felony bonds involving two separate crimes in Harris County, police officials told reporters. He and two other conspirators allegedly burglarized a gun store in Houston. He also has a 2017 charge for burglary of a building. His prior criminal history includes charges for engaging in organized criminal activity, unlawful carry of a weapon, failure to ID, possession of codeine, delivery of crack cocaine, multiple charges of burglary of a building, evading detention, criminal trespassing and multiple cases of possession of a controlled substance, the officials reported.
Jones, Williams, and Walker all have similar rap sheets, the KPRC report continued. Police said the five gang members are all believed to have been involved in other crimes across Texas.
