REYNOSA, Tamaulipas — The wave of terror by the Gulf Cartel continues to spread as the criminal organization is able to perform daytime kidnapping operations.
A leaked video exclusively obtained by Breitbart Texas reveals the moment when a team of Gulf Cartel gunmen pulls up to a local construction supply business to kidnap a victim.
In the video, a gray Audi sedan pulls up to a store and a team of gunmen is seen getting out. While some keep watch, the rest enter the business and are seen walking out with their victim. The man is apparently unable to demonstrate resistance.
Breitbart Texas was able to confirm that the kidnapping took place at a marble and granite store in the Los Leones neighborhood in Reynosa. Authorities have not released the victim’s name. The businessman’s fate remains unknown.
The kidnapping comes at a time when the Gulf Cartel continues waging an internal war for control of this border city. Two rival factions are responsible for more than 322 confirmed murders and executions since May and an unknown number of cases where the victims are presumed dead but are listed “disappeared”.
The escalating number of murders has led to more than 60 cases in November 2017 alone relates to the fight for control of the region’s lucrative drug trafficking and human smuggling routes, as well as the area’s money laundering operations. As a result of the violence, authorities discovered various clandestine graves and multiple incineration sites where victim’s bodies are burnt in 55-gallon drums.
Editor’s Note: Breitbart Texas traveled to the Mexican States of Tamaulipas, Coahuila, and Nuevo León to recruit citizen journalists willing to risk their lives and expose the cartels silencing their communities. The writers would face certain death at the hands of the various cartels that operate in those areas including the Gulf Cartel and Los Zetas if a pseudonym were not used. Breitbart Texas’ Cartel Chronicles are published in both English and in their original Spanish. This article was written by “A.C. Del Angel” from Tamaulipas.
