HOUSTON, Texas — A video of a man catching a fish in his flooded living room in Houston is going viral on Facebook. The unidentified flood victim and a female off camera are laughing as he chases the large fish in his home.
The videos show the man diving to catch the fish as the woman points to where it swam to.
The shirtless man proudly shows off his catch.
Just one post of the video by Viviana Saldana in Houston received almost 482,000 views as of Monday morning.
As reported by Breitbart Texas, the floods caused by the storm has been called a “500-year flood” and officials were pleading for more boats and high-water vehicles on Sunday.
At least six people in Texas lost their lives, according to current reports.
Harris County Judge Ed Emmett told Breitbart Texas on Sunday morning that “Houston is experiencing an unprecedented rain event.” The judge, who heads up Harris County’s emergency management response, urged people to stay in their homes, and people have been told to stay off the roads.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has committed at least 4,000 National Guard troops and sent them to the flood-ravished Houston area.
Weather officials state that Harvey will hit the upper Texas coast and southwestern Louisiana with 15 to 25 more inches of rain before it advances.
As reported, the National Weather Service says that the storm could rally after it returns to the warm, Gulf waters. Harvey is moving three miles per hour to the southeast.
With area-wide power outages, flooding, and devastating wind damage, predictions by the National Hurricane Center indicating that parts of Texas could become uninhabitable for weeks or months do not appear to be overblown at this point.
