A Dominican national convicted of molesting an underage, teenage boy was sentenced after trying to flee the United States following his trial.
Gregorio Martinez, from the Dominican Republic, was sentenced to four years in prison after sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy when he was a Pentecostal pastor in New Jersey, according to PIX 11 News.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed to Breitbart Texas that there is an active immigration detainer on Martinez. A detainer requests that should he be released from local custody, the individual would be turned over to federal officials.
In February 2015, Martinez was convicted of molesting the underage teen, but fled to Honduras soon after to avoid sentencing. Last year, Martinez was apprehended and sent back to the U.S. for sentencing.
After Martinez’s conviction, three other teenage boys came forward alleging sexual abuse by the pastor. Martinez is now facing additional charges related to those cases.
