Dismembered Corpse Found in Mexican Border Dumpster

PIEDRAS NEGRAS, Coahuila — Authorities continue to look into the discovery of a dismembered body that was left inside a trash dumpster in the state capital. In an apparent attempt to minimize terror among its citizens, state authorities are calling the gruesome execution a crime of passion.

The gruesome discovery was made Sunday afternoon when authorities responded to a call about a body in a dumpster in the Maria Leon neighborhood in Saltillo, information provided to Breitbart Texas, by Coahuila authorities revealed. After gathering the evidence in the area, authorities took the remains to carry out an autopsy. The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Mauricio Peña Cortes.

Saltillo is the capital of the State of Coahuila, the city is about 275 miles south of the Texas border. While authorities try to paint Saltillo one of the safest cities in the region, Coahuila continues to be one of the key areas used by Los Zetas (now known as Cartel Del Noreste). The criminal organization continues to use the border state as a springboard to move large quantities of drugs and illegal immigrants into Texas.

In recent years, internal and external fighting among cartels have brought countless massacres to Coahuila where hundreds of victims have been incinerated and thousands of families have been left without answers since their loved ones have only been labeled as missing. Los Zetas, considered to be one of the most sadistic criminal organizations Mexico, continue operating out of Coahuila. The cartel has been responsible for hundreds of decapitations and mutilations throughout Mexico, with some recorded and leaked.
