A California artist is protesting the inauguration of President-Elect Donald Trump by creating a painting with the blood of other artists and protesters.
At least 20 pints of human blood have been donated to artist Illma Gore by artists, activists, and musicians, reported ABC.
Gore said, “A leader is their reflection of its people, and this is exactly a reflection of Trump’s presidency … This is exactly what I stand for, and this is exactly what I do.”
“We weren’t planning anything until he was actually elected and decided to make a statement, a protest, against his inauguration,” Gore said.
Another artist protester who was interviewed, wore a black hoodie and a black scarf over his face. “Its a pretty nasty dose of foreshadowing,” and he said the presidential election was very polarizing. The unidentified man said he was one of the leaders of the piece, and they wanted Donald Trump to know that they were not going anywhere.
Gore is collaborating with the activist group Indecline–the group that created and placed the naked statutes of Donald Trump in five cities, including New York, in August. Breitbart News reported the statute was entitled, “The Emperor Has No Balls.” In October, a naked Hillary Clinton statute literally caused a fight in Manhattan. The statute was not up three hours when an angry woman knocked it over and yelled at the artist who made the statute. Twenty-seven-year-old artist Anthony Scioli placed hoofed feet on the Clinton statute and put the head of a Wall Street banker on her exposed breasts.
A visit to Gore’s website reveals a naked painting of Donald Trump. Another painting portrays female genitalia in a boxing ring with what appears to be a knocked-out Trump on the ring floor. Gore also has a photo of herself in a female genitalia costume and she is holding a sign that says “I COME IN PEACE.”
The painting made with blood is to be displayed in the Samuel Freeman Gallery in Culver City, California’s art district, ABC reported.
