MONTERREY, Nuevo León — A Mexican TV truck that had been covering the ongoing protests over recent spikes in gas prices apparently plowed into a line of protesters, running over a 10-year-old boy. Mexican authorities have not charged anyone in connection with the case; local news outlets have remained silent and the TV station has not released any statements about the incident.

As Breitbart Texas has been reporting, multiple cities in Mexico have been home to protests over a series of spikes in the price of gasoline. Some of the demonstrations have resulted in widespread rioting and looting.

During one of the protests in downtown Monterrey, a live TV truck from Multimedios was surrounded by dozens demanding lower gas prices. During the action, rioters had vandalized trucks belonging to other news outlets. Two trucks from Televisa, one from TV Azteca and another from Multimedios were all rolled over by protesters during the violence.

In various videos that have been shared on social media, the white truck can be seen moving forward into the crowd. The truck ran over 10-year-old Noe Olivarez Cayetano, who was rushed to a local hospital where he was treated and later released.

Authorities in Nuevo Leon have not announced any arrests or if any investigations are ongoing into the crash that injured the boy. Local news outlets have been covering the riots, but none of the local TV stations covered the specific incident.
