Texas ‘Faithless Elector’ Will Cast Vote for Kasich

The now infamous Texas “Faithless Elector” Christopher Suprun revealed he will cast his Electoral College Ballot on Monday for Ohio Governor John Kasich.

His announcement came in a guest column posted on The Hill. “Instead voting for Donald Trump, I will be casting my ballot for Ohio Governor John Kasich,” Suprun wrote.

The Texas members of the Electoral College meet at the Texas State Capitol on Monday afternoon to cast their ballots. So far, Suprun has been the only person to publicly state he not honor his pledge to vote for the candidate who won the majority of the voters of Texas. Instead, he will cast his vote for Governor Kasich, a man who also refused to honor his pledge to support the GOP nominee.

Suprun was exposed late last week by Dallas’ WFAA ABC8 as a possible fraud in his claim of being a 9/11 first responder. The Dallas ABC affiliate interviewed a first responder who knows Suprun. That person insisted on keeping his identity secret. “He claimed to be a first responder with the Manassas Park [Virginia] Fire Department on September 11, 2001 and personally told us stories ‘I was fighting fire that day at the Pentagon.’ No, I was on a medic unit that day at the Pentagon and you make a phone call to Manassas Park and you find out that he wasn’t even employed there until October 2001,” first responder claimed.

WFAA contacted the City of Manassas Park and confirmed that Suprun was not hired until October 10, 2001, nearly a month after the infamous terror attack. The official also added that the Manassas Park Fire Department did not respond to the Pentagon or to any of the 9/11 sites.

“It’s no different than stolen valor for the military; dressing up and saying ‘Hey, I earned a Purple Heart’ when you weren’t even in combat.’ There’s a big difference between shopping at Old Navy and being a Navy SEAL,” the first responder explained to the reporter.

Being selected to be an Electoral College Elector to represent the voters of Texas is apparently not the only time Suprun has leveraged his claims of service for personal benefit or endearment, Whitely reported.  He has been asked to appear at baseball games by Major League Baseball and has been introduced as a 9/11 veteran at ball games where he was asked to throw out the first pitch.

The Never Forget Foundation website confirms at least one of these appearances. The website links to a reposting of a Philadelphia Inquirer article by Daniel Rubin. Rubin writes, “The 10th anniversary was a big deal. Chris Suprun got to throw out the first ball at Anaheim Stadium before 42,581 Yankees-Angels fans, with two fellow 9/11 responders and three Navy SEALs at his side.”

Suprun founded the Never Forget 9/11 Foundation. The news station confirmed he carries a paramedic’s license with the state. “

“[B]ut much of the rest of résumé, publicly available on LinkedIn, is questionable,” the station reported. The resume shows his claim of being a paramedic with Air Methods, an air ambulance service provider. The Whitely reached out to Christina Brodsly, a spokesperson for the company. She told the news investigator that Suprun was not employed there.

He also claims on his LinkedIn resume to be a “Lead Paramedic/FTO” for Freedom EMS in Dallas. He claims a service period of 12.5 years and that he is currently employed by the company. WFAA reported that no such company exists after searching the Texas Department of State Health Service’s records. The station reported that a company by that name existed in Houston, but closed its doors in 2008.

Suprun did not return calls from the Dallas ABC affiliate and they reported his voicemail box is full.

Breitbart News reached out to Suprun’s public relations firm, Megaphone Strategies to see if they would confirm or deny WFAA’s allegations. The PR firm did not respond to Breitbart’s request for comment. Suprun’s second PR firm, Fenton Communications, also refused to respond to Breitbart’s enquiry.

Suprun’s only response to the allegation appeared on Reddit where he said he was a volunteer firefighter in Virginia at the time of the attack. He did not mention which fire department he served. He called WFAA’s report “a reckless disregard for the truth,” KERA News reported on Monday.
