U.S. Border Patrol agents working in south Texas have arrested 12 previously-deported sex offenders in recent weeks.

The arrests came over a nearly two-week period as Border Patrol agents successfully captured and identified the 12 men who had previously been convicted of sexual criminal offenses in the United States. Those offenders included at least three counts of child rapists, according to information obtained by Breitbart Texas from U.S. Border Patrol spokesman Isaac Villegas.

Agents in McAllen apprehended two adult males near the Texas border with Mexico. One of the men, a Mexican national, had previously been arrested by the Edinburg Police Department for aggravated sexual assault. He was convicted and eventually deported. A man from El Salvador was arrested on a separate occasion. He had previously been charged with second degree kidnapping and sexual battery in Hickory, North Carolina.

Later that week, agents working out of the Weslaco Station captured two men from El Salvador near the town of Hidalgo, Texas. A records check on the men revealed one of the men had been previously arrested in Houston on a charge of Sexual Assault of a Child Under 14-Years-Old. The other Salvadoran male had previously been charged with rape in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

Other sexual predators were also captured during the two-week period covered by this report. Those arrests were made in Rio Grande City, Fort Brown and Falfurrias. Few details of these arrests were provided by the Border Patrol, but charges included Aggravated Sexual Assault, Sexual Battery, and Sexual Assault of a Child Under 14-Years-Old.

All of the men were arrested and turned over to the Rio Grande Valley Sector Prosecutions Office for possible prosecution for felony re-entry by a sex offender.

Breitbart Texas has reported extensively on the large numbers of sex offenders who are arrested attempting to re-enter the United States, or who have successfully re-entered and committed other crimes.

Most recently a Mexican national was arrested in Austin, Texas, on multiple rape and assault charges after having been deported five times. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Texas declined to prosecute the man after his fourth deportation leaving him free to return a few weeks later and begin his crime spree against these Texas women.
