HOUSTON, Texas – Wikileaks Editor-in-Chief Julian Assange will speak to the delegates of the Green Party of the United States Convention on Saturday morning. He will address the convention via a video connection.

Assange’s speech to the Green Party’s convention is now scheduled to occur immediately after speeches from the presidential candidates who are running for the party’s nomination. Assange will be interviewed by a former Green Party presidential nominee, David Cobb, according to a statement from the Party obtained by Breitbart Texas. Cobb was the Green Party’s nominee in 2004.

The last minute announcement from the Green Party caused a re-shuffling of the day’s agenda where the delegates will be voting to nominate this year’s presidential candidate. That candidate is expected to be Dr. Jill Stein.

On Friday, Breitbart News’ Ben Kew reported that Assange has suggested that Russia was not behind the hack that leaked 20,000 emails from the Democratic National Committee’s email accounts. Assange told the news outlet Russia Today, “Russia has been brought up by Hillary Clinton just a few days ago, so I think it is necessary to address what Wikileaks feels is its perception of its own publication.”

Assange claimed that some of the evidence found in a PDF conversion containing Russian language is not conclusive that Russia was involved. “That is the circumstantial evidence that some Russian, or someone who wanted to make them look like a Russian, was involved, with these other media organizations. That is not the case for the material that we released,” Assange said.

Supporters of former Democratic presidential candidate, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) became outraged by the leaked emails that revealed the DNC’s plans to derail Sanders’ candidacy.

Breitbart Texas observed many disenfranchised Sanders supporters at the Green Party’s convention which began in Houston on Thursday. An interview with “Bernie or Bust” activist Debbie Lusignan was published late Thursday night.
