Nearly 200,000 criminal aliens have been booked into local Texas jails over the past five years. Those numbers included more than 155,000 criminal illegal aliens.
A report recently released by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) revealed that Texas taxpayers have been forced to foot the expense of over 195,000 criminal aliens who were booked into Texas jails between June 1, 2011 and June 30, 2016. Sixty-six percent of those criminal aliens identified by the DPS were aliens whose Department of Homeland Security (DHS) status was that of being illegally present in the United States at the time of their arrest. These numbers do not include those criminal aliens who have had no previous contact with DHS where fingerprints or other biometric information was obtained.
The report obtained by Breitbart Texas detailed the more than 520,000 charges brought against these criminal aliens over their criminal career. Among those are some of the most violent crimes in Texas statues including murder, kidnapping, assault, robbery, and sexual assault.
The charges include: 1,042 homicide charges; 61,815 assault charges; 15,339 burglary charges; 61,385 drug charges; 631 kidnapping charges; 37,563 theft charges; 40,959 obstructing police charges; 3,449 robbery charges; 5,445 sexual assault charges; and 7,805 weapons charges, the report states.
Of the 520,000 charges against these criminal aliens, more than 234,000 resulted in convictions. Those convictions include: 437 homicide convictions; 23,166 assault convictions; 7,450 burglary convictions; 30,509 drug convictions; 217 kidnapping convictions; 16,957 theft convictions; 20,200 obstructing police convictions; 1,754 robbery convictions; 2,486 sexual assault convictions; and 3,274 weapons convictions.
It is not known, at this time, how many of these criminal aliens have had immigration detainers places on the suspects by DHS Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.
Nationally, nearly one million immigrants have ignored orders of deportation, including more than 170,000 criminal aliens, Breitbart Texas reported on Monday. Those numbers are based upon a report published by the Center for Immigration Studies Policy Studies Director Jessica Vaughn.
“The fact that almost 10 percent of the illegal resident population has already been ordered removed and is still here illustrates just how dysfunctional our immigration enforcement system is. It also should be of great concern that 20 percent of them are conviction criminals, and that most of these are at large in our communities,” Vaugh told told the Washington Times’s Stephen Dinan.
