Breitbart Texas traveled to the Mexican States of Tamaulipas and Coahuila to recruit citizen journalists willing to risk their lives and expose the cartels silencing their communities. The writers would face certain death at the hands of the various cartels that operate in those areas including the Gulf Cartel and Los Zetas if a pseudonym were not used. Breitbart Texas’ Cartel Chronicles are published in both English and in their original Spanish. This article was written by “M.A. Navarro” from Ciudad Victoria.
CIUDAD VICTORIA, Tamaulipas — Cartel gunmen severed the heads of two men, one who is believed to be a police officer from this border state. A cartel message accused the police officer of having taken sides in the raging war between two rival factions of the Los Zetas drug cartel.
As previously reported by Breitbart Texas, two rival factions of the Los Zetas cartel have gone to war over this city spreading terror among average citizens. The faction known as Grupo Bravo or Vieja Escuela has made a violent push against the faction known as Cartel Del Noreste (CDN)
This week, Mexican authorities responded to an abandoned vehicle near the rural community of Laborcitas where neighbors had reported a suspicious vehicle that had been abandoned.
When authorities inspected the vehicle, they found two severed human heads. While authorities have not publicly identified the victims, a cartel message points to one of them having been a Tamaulipas police officer.
On a green poster board cartel members scrawled the following message in Spanish with a marker, “Here are the damn guys who covered for you CDN Atte Vieja Escuela Z.”
At around the same time that authorities were responding to the rural area to collect the human heads, a social media message issuing further threats against law enforcement officials who sided with the CDN. The message was credited to a man calling himself Bravo 1, who is believed to be the leader of Grupo Bravo.
“These dogs are part of CDN, one of them was part of the PEP (acronym for state police) and worked with Tiki Tiki (local crime boss). My fight is not with the government so if you are not helping me, stay neutral don’t try to [expletive] because I will hunt you down like Beasts and chop your heads off, Atte Bravo 1.”
The message continued with an expletive filled threat against a man described as “Lieutenant Tirado”. In the threat Bravo 1 claims that federal investigators were not able to pin anything to him but that he was going to personally hunt him down and kill him. The message further revealed that there were two heads in the trunk of a car and gives a location.
While the message did not provide a first name for Lieutenant Tirado, Tamaulipas law enforcement officials consulted by Breitbart Texas confirmed that the message was addressed to Lt. Jose Ramon Tirado who is the ranking officer of the recently created Accredited State Police, which is supposed to be corruption proof.
Another gruesome murder tied to the ongoing cartel war between the two factions recently took place when authorities discovered the remains of a man who had been wrapped in black trash bags. The term “embolsado” or bagged is a common word used to describe the practice of clandestinely wrapping a body in order to dispose of it.
