BROWNSVILLE, Texas – A previously deported murderer from Mexico is back in U.S. custody following his arrest by Texas law enforcement and Border Patrol agents. He was arrested re-entering the U.S. just months after his prior deportation.

Cameron County Constables arrested Jesus Guadalupe Lozano Garcia earlier this week in the border town of La Feria and called U.S. Border Patrol agents to assist them in the case, court records obtained by Breitbart Texas revealed

During an investigation, Border Patrol agents determined that Lozano Garcia is the same person who had been convicted of murder in 2006. Breitbart Texas confirmed that Lozano Garcia was initially arrested on the charge in 2005 and took a plea deal in May 22, 2006 at the 139th State District Court in Hidalgo County. Additional information as to the specifics, or motive of the murder or the victim was not readily available.

After serving 10 years in prison and being given credit for time served, Lozano Garcia was released and turned over to federal agents who deported him in February 2015. Just months after his deportation, Lozano Garcia admitted to agents that he illegally entered the U.S this week.

Lozano remains in federal custody on a $25,000 bond set by a U.S. magistrate judge in Brownsville.
