McALLEN, Texas—Federal agents along the Texas border continue to see large groups of illegal immigrants either in stash houses or coming over the river.
On Monday, agents with U.S. Homeland Security Investigations along with U.S. Border Patrol and Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office raided a border stash house in the town of Edcouch. They found 32 illegal aliens, court records obtained by Breitbart Texas revealed.
Authorities raided the house after receiving information that two illegal immigrants had escaped from the stash house and requested help. After carrying out a surveillance operation, they raided the house. In addition to detaining the immigrants they also arrested the two caretakers of the house identified as Carlos Orrego and Wendy Cruz, both illegal aliens from Guatemala.
Both Orrego and Cruz went before U.S. Magistrate Judge Dorina Ramos, who ordered they be held without bond.
The raid at the Edcouch house comes just days after U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested 43 illegal immigrants near the border community of Fronton. The arrest came after a USBP aerostat equipped with surveillance equipment alerted agents to activity near the town’s cemetery. The agents arrived and ended up finding a total of 43 illegal immigrants in the brush.
