Church employees were terrified when a man broke into a back door of a church yesterday. Law enforcement officers pursued the man after he hid from them.

KPRC2 in Houston reported that two men were being pursued by police officers in northwest Harris County. The men were in a stolen 1986 BMW when they bailed out of the car near the Centro Cristiano de Vida Eterna church on Antoine Drive in Houston, Texas.

One of the men who had jumped out of the car was Tasered by police. The other man broke the backdoor of the church and ran into the church. A baby boy was laying in a crib just a few feet from the backdoor.

Noel Oreallana, the pastor of the church said he grabbed a pair of scissors to defend himself. He told KPRC2, “I was scared because I saw the guy. I was thinking he was going to try to [steal] something…. It was kind-of scary.”

One man at the church even hit the man to try to get him out of the church.

Karen Guevara, a witness who was in the church, said the fleeing man ran through the building and broke another door in the front of the church. She said he was covered in blood and blood stained the front and back glass doors of the church. She said, “We were all just freaking out; we were scared.”

The man ran out the front door and across the street into an area containing storage facilities. He jumped a fence but was quickly apprehended and Tasered by police.
