BROWNSVILLE, Texas—A federal judge in Texas once again expressed his frustration at what appears to be an ongoing effort by the federal government to avoid following orders in regards to an injunction on Obama’s executive amnesty.
As previously reported by Breitbart Texas, U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen has ordered President Barack Obama, Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson and others to his courtroom at the next hearing to answer for violations of his orders or face a contempt of court charge.
“This Court has expressed its willingness to believe that these actions were accidental and not done purposely to violate this Court’s order,” U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen wrote in the order. “Nevertheless, it is shocked and surprised at the cavalier attitude the Government has taken with regards to its efforts to rectify the situation.”
As Breitbart Texas previously reported, U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen has sounded off against the Obama administration once he learned that the government had issued about 2,000 permits to illegal immigrants in direct violation of a previously issued a court order.
The order was supposed to stop the implementation of an executive amnesty ordered by Obama allowing illegal immigrants to stay in the country and not face deportation.
The injunction was filed after Texas and two dozen other states sued, claiming that the move would cause irreparable damage to the states who would be forced to front a large number of expenses in services and infrastructure that they are not prepared for.
It was during the back-and-forths in those hearings that Hanen learned that, even after the injunction, DHS had issued permits to 2,000 illegal immigrants. During that hearing, a visually upset Hanen said he had believed the government and he had been made to look like an idiot.
During that hearing Hanen had mentioned the possibility of imposing sanctions but mentioned that monetary ones would only be paid for with tax money so it wouldn’t benefit anyone.
“The Government has conceded that it has directly violated this Court’s Order in its May 2015 Advisory, yet as of today, two months have passed since the Advisory and it has not remedied its own violative behavior. “ Hanen wrote “That is unacceptable and as far as the Government’s attorney’s are concerned, completely unprofessional.”
