A Texas teenager has died from what police say was a game of Russian roulette. Vikram Virk told authorities that he shot 18-year-old Jaskaran Singh in the head. The man said they were taking turns pointing the gun at each other and pulling the trigger. He told peace officers they were friends.
According to the arrest warrant affidavit (shown below), the two men were sitting in a parking lot of a hotel at 13685 N. Central Expressway in Dallas, Texas when the shooting occurred. Virk initially told police that Singh shot himself while playing with the gun.
Virk later changed his story and told police investigators that he emptied his handgun and handed it to Singh, to begin a game of Russian roulette. He said Singh pulled the twigger twice but the gun did not fire. He said he then took the gun and pointed it at the teenager’s left temple. The first time the gun did not fire, but it did the second time he pulled the twigger.
Vik drove the young man to a hospital in Richardson, Texas, where he died from his injuries. He told hospital staff that Singh had shot himself. Ricardson is located in Dallas County, Texas.
Law enforcement officers were called to the hospital and a firearm was found in the floorboard of Virk’s vehicle.
Virk was taken to the Dallas County jail, given his Miranda warnings, and questioned.
He was later charged with manslaughter.
His bond was set at $150,000.
Virk is from Murphy, Texas, which is northeast of Dallas, Texas, and just two miles south of the famous Southfork Ranch.
