An illegal alien from Honduras believed to have fled back home has been identified as the prime suspect in a robbery-turned-murder in Texas.
Domingo Villeda Rodriguez, a 22-year-old illegal alien from Honduras who also went by the name Ivan Rodriguez Sauzo, has been identified by the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers as a suspect in a murder investigation, Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra told Breitbart Texas.
The murder in question is the April 20th kidnapping of Miguel Angel Muro, who was last seen leaving his Pharr home with two unidentified men in his pickup, Breitbart Texas previously reported. The truck was found abandoned in a canal bank shortly after Muro was declared a missing person.
On April 29, Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a rural area north of San Juan, where they found a decomposed body that was identified as Muro during the course of the investigation. The case was ruled a homicide by stabbing, with the possible motive being robbery, Guerra said.
Investigators had a Texas DPS sketch artist create a composite sketch of the suspect known as “Ivan,” and eventually authorities were able to identify him as Villeda Rodriguez.
“Our investigators have received information that Rodriquez may have left to Honduras,” the sheriff said. “We are currently working together with our law enforcement partners and the FBI to verify Rodriguez’s whereabouts and bring him to justice.”
