Placing the blame for the Sunday biker shooting firmly on the franchisee, Twin Peaks national headquarters has revoked the franchise from the Waco restaurant. Nine people were killed in a fight that began inside the restaurant and spilled out into the parking lot.

“We will not tolerate the actions of this relatively new franchisee and are revoking their franchise immediately,” the company wrote in a statement on their Facebook page. “Unfortunately the management team of the franchised restaurant in Waco chose to ignore the warnings and advice from both the police and our company, and did not uphold the high security standards we have in place to ensure everyone is safe at our restaurants.”

“We cannot tolerate the actions of this relatively new franchisee and have revoked their franchise agreement effectively immediately,” they concluded.

The Facebook page for the Waco restaurant has been taken down.

Breitbart Texas reported on Monday that the Waco chain had their liquor license suspended for at least seven days by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

Waco police have also not been shy about blaming the Waco franchisee. “They have some answering to do,” said Sgt. Patrick Swanton, “not only to you [the news media], but to our community.” He reiterated that the police have been attempting to get management to deal with the situation involving what he described as organized criminal biker gangs for at least two months.

“We feel like there may have been more that could have been done by a business to prevent this,” said Swanton in an interview with KTVT, noting that police had expected trouble with the bikers and had a marked SWAT truck standing by, in full view of the bikers, just before the fight broke out. “They absolutely have a right to refuse service to people that may be a harm to their patrons and employees. They didn’t do that, and today [Sunday] is the ultimate aftermath of what their decision was.”

The Dallas, Texas, based company has thirteen franchise locations in Texas, the most of any state.

“Our sympathies continue to be with the families of those who died and are very thankful no employees, guests, police officers or bystanders were hurt or injured,” the Twin Peaks headquarters wrote on their Facebook page.
