MCALLEN, Texas – The Gulf Cartel’s top cocaine distributor in Matamoros remains behind bars following his recent arrest in that Mexican border city .
The arrest took place following an anonymous tip and a follow-up investigation that led authorities to Jorge Omar “El Nene” Aguilar and his right hand man Luis Daniel “El Gallo” Guevara. Their accountant Alejandro “El Camello” Delgado was also taken into custody, information released to Breitbart Texas by the Tamaulipas state government revealed.
Authorities tracked the three men and stopped a pickup they were riding in. During the arrest the cops seized $1 million in several cash bundles, about 2 pounds of cocaine, six weapons and more than 2,000 rounds of ammunition. Aguilar has been described as the chief cocaine distributor in Matamoros for the organization.
The city of Matamoros has been dragged into a fierce struggle as warring factions of the Gulf Cartel fight for control of the organization. The fighting which began in early February has led to dozens of casualties and created panic along border cities.
