MCALLEN, Texas — Four SWAT teams raided four Texas border homes Thursday morning searching for weapons and two suspected gang members.
The raids were led by the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, with the help of state and local agencies, in order to serve a series of warrants tied to a recent shooting in the border city of Alamo, Texas, according to information released by the sheriff’s office.
Court records show that in the shooting, 17-year-old Christian Vasquez and 22-year-old Ricardo McDanniel are accused of shooting at another man out of a pickup truck.
Authorities told Breitbart Texas that the event appears to be tied to other previous shootings from what appears to be a rivalry.
The area of Alamo, particularly the southern part that is closer to the border, has been in law enforcement’s radar for some time because of the high number of street gang activity.
