AUSTIN, Texas — Republican candidate for governor Greg Abbott launched an online video today, summarizing the negative backlash to the ad from his Democratic opponent, Wendy Davis, in which Davis uses the image of an empty wheelchair to attack Abbott.
Breitbart Texas has previously reported on the swift and extremely negative backlash to the ad, which came from all across the political spectrum. Abbott’s ad quotes a number of the critics of the ad and ends by calling her campaign a “lost cause” as the text, “Wendy Davis: Unfit to be Governor” appears on the screen. Davis has remained unapologetic about the ad, continuing to promote it on social media, and holding a press conference Monday defending it, which drew new criticism over accusations she was using disabled people as props.
