HOUSTON, Texas — On Sunday a 33-year-old Mexican national was busted by Border Patrol agents for having large amounts of methamphetamine and heroin hidden inside her vehicle.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP), the suspect, a female, ignored an agent when he asked her to roll her window down for questioning at the Pine Valley Checkpoint near San Diego. The woman’s behavior caused her to be referred to an inspection area, where drug-sniffing dogs found 39 bundles of meth and heroin.

The recovered drugs had a street value of more than $500,000. In total, the drugs weighed about 38 pounds.

The bundles were stored in a compartment under the dashboard, according to CBP.

The Drug Enforcement Administration currently has custody of the woman and drugs. The suspect faces charges relating to possession of illegal substances.
