Almost as soon as Jeb Bush put out a note on Facebook announcing his new leadership PAC widely presumed to be his first step in seeking the 2016 GOP presidential nomination, Sen Rand Paul’s leadership went up with a couple notes of its own via Google Ads.
The ads are linked to searches for Jeb’s name.
“Join a movement working to shrink government. Not grow it,” the ad states, with a link to RandPAC, Paul’s longstanding federal leadership committee, and a page asking supporters to give their email address and zip code to “Stand With Rand.”
The PAC also went up with a second search ad not long after the first.
Later Tuesday, RandPAC added a second ad to its digital buy, implicitly attacking Bush’s strong defense of the Common Core education standards. “We need leaders who will stand against common core,” the search ad stated, with a link to Paul’s political action committee.
