Alison Lundergan Grimes’ campaigns touts it as the former president’s “first advertisement for a Senate campaign” in 2014.
In fact, it was a video message from Bill that “officially kicked off her campaign last year” and he’s already made two trips to Kentucky in support of her campaign.
And , Wednesday, former President Bill Clinton made his first appearance in a campaign ad for Alison Lundergan Grimes.
Mitch McConnell’s campaign was quick to respond.
“Alison Grimes hopes that celebrity endorsements distract Kentucky voters long enough to hide her support for the Obama agenda,” said McConnell Press Secretary Allison Moore. “Kentuckians know that a vote for Alison Lundergan Grimes would ensure that the Obama agenda marches forward with the help of a freshman Kentucky Senator instead of Mitch McConnell who leads the fight for Kentucky values.”
