The not-Islamic Islamic State we’re not at war with just beheaded another hostage on video, this time a citizen of the United Kingdom, another member of the non-coalition our hideously incompetent President forgot to put together before he announced it on television last Wednesday. The British seem inclined to believe the videotaped execution of aid worker David Haines is authentic, as Prime Minister David Cameron took to Twitter on Saturday evening to denounce the heinous deed:
Unlike certain other world leaders, Cameron returned immediately to work after the video, “A Message to the Allies of America,” was revealed. According to the UK Daily Mail, Cameron will “chair a meeting of the government’s emergency response team in the morning.” I guess he doesn’t work through his grief and anger by laughing it up with his billionaire pals on the golf course.
The Daily Mail describes the new ISIS video, which follows the same pattern as their previous releases… including a nod toward the next hostage they intend to execute:
The video begins with recent news footage of Prime Minister David Cameron discussing Britain’s foreign policy towards Islamic State.
It then cuts to the man kneeling in the video, who says: ‘My name is David Cawthorne Haines. I would like to declare that I hold you David Cameron entirely responsible for my execution.
‘You entered voluntarily into a coalition with the United States against the Islamic State, just as your predecessor Tony Blair did, following a trend amongst our British Prime Minsters who can’t find the courage to say no to the Americans.
‘Unfortunately it is we the British public that in the end will pay the price for our Parliament’s selfish decisions.’
The Islamic State militant, who has a British accent, adds: ‘This British man has to the pay the price for your promise Cameron to arm the Peshmerga against the Islamic State.
‘Ironically he has spent a decade of his life serving under the same Royal Air Force that is responsible for delivering those arms.
‘Your evil alliance with America which continues to strike the Muslims of Iraq and most recently bombed the Haditha Dam will only accelerate your destruction, and playing the role of the obedient lapdog, Cameron, will only drag you and your people into another bloody and unwinnable war.’
The footage then shows what is believed to be the body of Mr Haines. Another hostage, believed to be British, is then paraded.
The militant adds: ‘If you, Cameron, persist in fighting the Islamic State then you like your master Obama, will have the blood of your people on your hands.’
Haines’ family pleaded with ISIS for Haines’ release just hours before the release of his videotaped execution. Needless to say, David Haines was a far better man than the animals who killed him:
Mr Haines was taken while working for relief agency ACTED in Syria in March 2013, having previously helped local people in Libya and South Sudan.
He was in Libya during its civil war in 2011, working as head of mission for Handicap International.
It helps disabled people in poverty and conflict zones around the world.
The 44-year-old has a teenage daughter in Scotland from a previous marriage with wife Louise and a four-year-old daughter in Croatia from his present marriage.
He had been working for the French aid agency for just ten days when he was taken alongside Federico Motka, an Italian-Swiss aid worker freed four months ago after a ransom was paid.
A previous Daily Mail article reported that Haines “was tortured in captivity with tasers, and was singled out by his captors for brutal treatment because he was British. He developed severe vomiting and diarrhea, and his health became so dire that his captors called in a doctor.” Hopefully we can put the Obama Administration’s amateur-hour antics behind us, fire the teenagers who have been handling public relations for the State Department and White House, and get busy calling in some hellfire on these savages. I hope everyone reading this will join me in sending thoughts and prayers to Haines’ family, and to all our friends in the United Kingdom. Do we really need any further demonstrations of the evil we’re fighting to get everyone on the same page about wiping them out?
One other question: are we still putting all our eggs in the “send guns to the good-guy Syrian rebels” basket? Because I’ve got a sick feeling we’re going to learn Haines was initially seized by some species of “moderate” Syrian rebel and sold to ISIS, the same way murdered American journalist Steven Sotloff was.
Update: Official statement from President Obama:
“The United States strongly condemns the barbaric murder of UK citizen David Haines by the terrorist group ISIL. Our hearts go out to the family of Mr. Haines and to the people of the United Kingdom. The United States stands shoulder to shoulder tonight with our close friend and ally in grief and resolve. We will work with the United Kingdom and a broad coalition of nations from the region and around the world to bring the perpetrators of this outrageous act to justice, and to degrade and destroy this threat to the people of our countries, the region and the world.”
Please, dear God, no. Tell me the White House communications feed got hacked or something. Tell me Barack Obama didn’t just push his “degrade and destroy” political slogan in his official response to the Haines murder.
Update: This would be an excellent time for moderate Islam to rise up and speak out against ISIS and Islamic fascism in one mighty voice, in the name of a man who did so much to help Muslims during his relief work around the world.
