While Vice President Joe Biden was at a Navy shipyard in Portsmouth, N.H. praising Democrat Jeanne Shaheen for fighting base closures, Shaheen’s campaign was busy releasing a statement “to reiterate her strong opposition to the administration’s base closure recommendations and highlight the important ongoing work at the base.”
Meanwhile, the NH GOP was bust linking Shaheen to the Obama administration, which remains incredibly unpopular there, as well as elsewhere around the country. If anything, Obama’s numbers have continued to sag since this late August poll in New Hampshire.
Thirty-seven percent approve of the job Obama is doing as president. But 59 percent disapprove, and Brown leads 71 to 17 percent with this group.
Obama has been widely credited for helping Shaheen to win her seat in 2008. Now, with his numbers under water in the state, the outcome remains very much in doubt.
