Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D) is making a valiant effort to raise campaign dinero for her political party’s liberal causes, all at the expense of those mean and nasty Koch brothers.
Wasserman Schultz and her colleague over on the Senate side, Harry Reid, are waging a “war on Koch,” blaming the two conservative evil-doing philanthropists for all the ills of the nation. Here is Debbie’s fundraising email to supporters. The goal is to raise $26,000 by August 26th.
Dear Friend,
Democrats tend to not vote in midterm elections — and that’s a trend that needs to stop. With the Koch brothers already spending money here in Florida and tight races up and down the ballot, we can’t take anything for granted.
We still don’t know who I’ll be facing in November, but we do know that we need to use every second between then and now to organize and win. Help us roar into the general election by helping us hit our $26,000 goal before the primary on August 26.
The conventional wisdom is that Democrats fare poorly in midterm elections, but we know what our coalition is made of. We know that when we show up and make our voices heard, it doesn’t matter how much the Koch brothers or their allies want to spend — because here in South Florida, our democracy is not for sale.
But pumping up Democratic turnout is a function of a well-run campaign, and we need your help to make that happen. Hitting our $26,000 primary goal before August 26 will help us drive up turnout and win in November — give $5 and get us a little closer.
Many pundits seem to think Democrats are going to lose this November. But they have been wrong before and we’re going to prove them wrong once more.
Thanks for your help.
