Former National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor attempted to deflect Bret Baier’s questions on Fox News’ Special Report Thursday by arguing that what was important about what happened in Benghazi “two years ago” [sic] was less important than what happens in the future. “What we should be worried about is making sure that never happens again,” Vietor said, hoping to shake Baier loose.
No doubt Vietor has a point. But it may not be the one he thinks he is making. Arguably, the best way to make sure that Benghazi never happens again is to make sure the people responsible for it are never given that kind of responsibility in the future. And the person–by her own admission!–most directly responsible is former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Plainly, “never again” means no to Hillary in 2016.
