In response to DEMOCRAT Mayor of Charlotte Arrested for Theft, Bribery:
It appears that Patrick Cannon, the Democrat Mayor of Charlotte, who was arrested today for accepting more than $48,000 in bribes, was not a member of Mayor Bloomberg’s notorious “Mayors Against Illegal Guns.”
It took some digging on my part to discover this surprising result because MAIG removed their member list from their website back in January.
I reckon MAIG’s finally figured out that it’s not a good idea to maintain an online resource for gun bloggers to check whenever a mayor goes off the rails and, say, kidnaps a man at gunpoint. An event which also coincides with the list’s disappearance.
The Truth about Guns maintains a list of current MAIG members (last updated Feb 1, 2014) and Cannon’s name was not on it.
Cannon’s corruption charges are quite mild compared with what MAIG Mayors gone wild have been convicted of doing.
