Along with claiming that Russian President Vladimir Putin has the law on his side in Crimea, former Representative Ron Paul also blamed America and Europe for helping to overthrow the elected government of the Ukraine when he appeared on Fox Business Network’s The Independents today.
“This whole thing that Putin is the big cause of the trouble, and yet there’s pretty goodevidence that the Europeans as well as the American government had to contrive to have theoverthrow of a government that most people say had been elected,” Paul asserted.
Paul also accused the United States of hypocrisy for allegedly participating in ousting Viktor Yanukovich’s government. He also interjected the ‘S’ word most still connect to the American Civil War.
“There should be a right of secession,” Paul concluded. He said America has a tradition ofsecession and Crimea should have it as well.
