Republican Senator Jeff Sessions will face no Democrat opposition for re-election in 2014. It represents the first time in history Democrats are not putting up a candidate for the office.
That’s not the only seat Democrats are leaving unopposed.
There are no Democrats running for U.S. House in the 4th and 5th districts. For the 140 state legislative races, no Democrats are running in 57 races.
