John McCain Blames 'Extremists in Republican Party' for Arizona Censure

Senator John McCain (R – AZ) responded on Monday to the censure he received from the Arizona Republican Party, who say McCain’s voting record is too liberal. 

“It’s regrettable, but I think it’s a case where a lot of extremists have taken over the Republican Party and one of their complaints about me was that I support Obamacare. That’s unethical to say that,” McCain told Breitbart News. 

The resolution to censure McCain was passed by a voice vote during a state committee meeting in Tempe, The Washington Post reported.  Signatures from at least 20 percent of state committee members were required for the resolution to come to the floor to debate.
